Edgewood Continues to Benefit from Membership in Wisconsin Campus Compact (10/24/05)

Edgewood College was recently informed that its membership in the Wisconsin Campus Compact (WiCC) has had a significant benefit the campus, its students, and surrounding communities. In 2004-05 Edgewood received $40,749 in return for its annual membership dues of $2000.

Specifically, Edgewood has benefited from:

  • 1 AmeriCorps VISTA Service-Learning Coordinator (3-year initiative)
  • 10 scholarships for first generation/low income students
  • 2 National Campus Compact/Pew Charitable Trust “Raise Your Voice” grants to support student civic leadership
  • 2 Edgewood students participating in 4-day Student Civic Leadership Institute

As a founding member of WiCC, Edgewood College has been a key leader in growing the network to be one of the most highly-recognized state compacts in the country. It is anticipated that Edgewood and the state will continue to reap benefits in the form of funding, programs, and services to enhance service-learning and civic engagement.
